چکیده

Simulating quantum many-body systems is a highly demanding task since the required resources grow exponentially with dimension of system. In case fermionic systems, this even harder nonlocal interactions emerge due to antisymmetric character wave function. Here, we introduce digital-analog algorithm simulate wide class Hamiltonians including paradigmatic one-dimensional Fermi-Hubbard model. These methods allow algorithms run beyond digital versions via an efficient use coherence time. Furthermore, exemplify our techniques low-connected architecture for realistic implementations specific models.

Digital quantum simulation of fermionic models with a superconducting circuit

One of the key applications of quantum information is simulating nature. Fermions are ubiquitous in nature, appearing in condensed matter systems, chemistry and high energy physics. However, universally simulating their interactions is arguably one of the largest challenges, because of the difficulties arising from anticommutativity. Here we use digital methods to construct the required arbitra...

Digital-Analog Quantum Simulation of Spin Models in Trapped Ions

We propose a method to simulate spin models in trapped ions using a digital-analog approach, consisting in a suitable gate decomposition in terms of analog blocks and digital steps. In this way, we show that the quantum dynamics of an enhanced variety of spin models could be implemented with substantially less number of gates than a fully digital approach. Typically, analog blocks are built of ...

Operator Locality in Quantum Simulation of Fermionic Models

Simulating fermionic lattice models with qubits requires mapping fermionic degrees of freedom to qubits. The simplest method for this task, the Jordan-Wigner transformation, yields strings of Pauli operators acting on an extensive number of qubits. This overhead can be a hindrance to implementation of qubit-based quantum simulators, especially in the analog context. Here we thus review and anal...

Digital-analog quantum simulation of generalized Dicke models with superconducting circuits

We propose a digital-analog quantum simulation of generalized Dicke models with superconducting circuits, including Fermi- Bose condensates, biased and pulsed Dicke models, for all regimes of light-matter coupling. We encode these classes of problems in a set of superconducting qubits coupled with a bosonic mode implemented by a transmission line resonator. Via digital-analog techniques, an eff...

Reliability of analog quantum simulation

Analog quantum simulators (AQS) will likely be the first nontrivial application of quantum technology for predictive simulation. However, there remain questions regarding the degree of confidence that can be placed in the results of AQS since they do not naturally incorporate error correction. Specifically, how do we know whether an analog simulation of a quantum model will produce predictions ...
